Where's the Green?

In our town everyone knows where the Green is; it is the central reference point for the geography of the borough. A handful of us have gathered together and formed the Susquehanna County Green Party Committee. In this last election, as in earlier elections, there have been something like 2000 votes cast for Green candidates, yet when we try to mobilize these electors we receive little response to our call. There are more than fifty voters registered as Green in our county, yet there are rarely more than five members that show up for a committee meeting, and always the same five! The Green values make a lot of sense to me so I'm at a loss to explain why there are so few who are willing to establish a political Green in our county.
And so my question of the moment: "Where's the Green?"
